salad, 5 slices of salami, 2 pieces of mozzarella, dozen potato chips (Kettle Baked Chips, Lightly Salted...these are soooooo good) 2 tablespoons of hummus, glass of sparkling berry lemonaide

conclusions

the reason for starting this food blog was to find out what is going on with my stomach. since all samples of me came back negative, normal or A-OK, i'm left to deduce that i'm allergic to a food or the stress from work.

the full bloating feeling is coming and going, but i can sort of point to commonality of 3 possible suspects:

red wine
wheat / gluten
cheese (unlikely, now that i think about it)


wow. that's irritating.

anatomy of a soup


DAY ONE :
beg your friends for their bones at an expensive steak restaurant: roast for an hour with onions, a carrot and garlic

add water, parsley sprigs, whole peppercorns, salt: boil for an hour, reduce to a simmer for 2 more hours. refrigerate over night

DAY TWO :
drudge oxtails in flour + spices

braise oxtails in (should be 1/4 cup of butter and 1 tbs olive oil, i omitted the butter)

browned oxtails

add *cold* beef stock (from night before)

add 1 cup tomato juice and bring to a boil

transfer to oven and bake for 2 hours at 350°

DAY THREE:
chop carrots, onion, celery and garlic : saute and add to soup – bake for one more hour
